Here’s where you’ll find our tips for the perfect stay.
Places to eat, walks to go on, places we’ve been too and loved.
3 walks from the barn
The walk we probably do most often, we call the ‘Campalli’ walk as it takes you in a loop past the Campalli estate on the hill nearby. It takes about between 1.5 – 2hrs depending on the heat. We like to get up early in the summer and do this before breakfast and the sun make it much harder.
Come out of the main gates at Bagnaie and walk down the track to the road. Turn left and walk until you see the turning for Campalli on your left. Take this road up to the main house. Take the path to the left of the property which runs along the wall. At the end turn right. You will then come to a path on your left which takes you down past a cluster of cypress trees and continue on up past some farm buildings on your right. Carry on up this path. You’ll pass a turning to Cogno on your right. Keep going all the way to the top until you hit a white road. Admire the views. Walk left down the road all the way back to the gates of Bagnaie.
A longer walk involves coming out of the gates at Bagnaie and turing right up the path. Take this road all the way to the top until you reach Fonterutolli. If they are open its well worth trying their wine, its excellent.
