le bagnaie

Our barn sits in a small hamlet called Le Bagnaie. There are seven other houses sharing our hilltop. Together we employ a full time gardener, called Cosimo, who makes sure our garden and the whole site look amazing all year round. He also cultivates our kitchen garden so that we can pick basil leaves, heritage tomatoes and zucchini as the seasons allow. He prunes our cherry, white peach and fig trees. And he cleans the 20-metre pool every morning.

Jacky is our property manager. She’s there to make sure everything runs smoothly. Originally from England, Jacky has lived locally for over 30 years and is a phone call away if needed.

We have a team of local cleaners. They will come and clean the house on change over days. If you’re staying more than a week, someone will come and clean the house and change your sheets each Saturday.

There is a recently re-surfaced hard tennis court and a boules pitch on site. We have tennis rackets and balls that you are welcome to use, which are kept in our games box.

Le Bagnaie’s large heated swimming pool is perfect for either swimming lengths or keeping the kids happy. You can choose to sit by the pool where there are plenty of sun loungers, or in the shaded pergola area, plus there is a lower deck with another seating area and sweeping views. The pool area has toilet and shower facilities, situated below the solar panels that heat the pool as the sun shines.

Wandering around Le Bagnaie, you will find a large wood pile if you want to have a wood fire, and a tap by the main gates which gives you Tuscan hill water from our own well.

The site has two car parking areas hidden discretely away from view and under the shade of umbrella pine trees.

You may also come across Pippa. She is the hamlet cat and will stroll around the site and sleep in her favourite spots. She keeps an eye on who’s there, as well as the mice.
